"What a Week I am Having" - Walter Cornbluth

I will give props to whomever can tell me the movie from whence that quote was taken.

Seriously though, its been quite a busy week. It started last Monday with words that fill all husbands with dread. My wife called me while I was driving home from work to tell me that I had some work to do. I considered driving my Oldsmobile on, past my exit, as far as 3/4 of a tank of gas could go. No, she surely would find me, and have more lists to complete. I chose home, and the awaiting project, which turned out to be a 12 foot trampoline, with safety net. A nice addition, and the kids are thrilled.

The middle days of the week saw our backyard morph into a community center, with kids from the block rejoicing in our purchase. I know I saw at least 8 in one sitting, but it is all good, and happiness reigns........ generally. Two boys, playing with my son until about 9 pm told me that their mom said they could stay until Dakota had to go in. I informed them that time was now. They left....thankfully. I didn't want to turn into gruff dad, but I held that persona in the wings, ready to strike at any moment.

Friday night and Saturday were pretty uneventful, playing in the backyard, fixing a few things, cooking. Went to watch a pay-per-view fight with my brother late Saturday night. That was fun.

Today, however, was a big one. Learned to run the sound for worship in prep for next week, when the three who could do it will not be able to do it. Had a big church fellowship/picnic thing, a fellownic I suppose. We had a large slip-n-slide, and let it be known that I perfected a technique that shall forever be referred to as "The Penguin". It involved sliding only on the stomach, with the arms pulled back and legs up, head first. Good speed, and at least a 5 foot run into the grass, after finishing the 20 foot of soapy wet black plastic. George has a video, and I am sure it will be seen, as everything that is vaguely embarassing about me comes to light. Then, a big youth worship night at KC. Good times, good pizza, good to see everyone, especially Tony, Brad, Paul and Steve. I had Brennan riding shotty with me in the minivan, so that just made it even better.

Now, I am home, writing this, listening to "the Church", a post modern 80's band with one cult hit that George and I agree might be one of the better songs ever made. Jay told me that, on my solo run at sound next week, we will be doing the most complicated worship we have ever done. Glad I got my practice today. Evidently, we will be linking up with astronauts at the international space station for a joint worship. Well, maybe not that dramatic, but we will be linking up with George in Mexico, and recording a praise song in Spanish for the group down there. I am gonna be as busy as the one armed guy from "The Fugitive" in a DJ'ing contest.

Well, until next time, "Vaya con Dios".

Hello

Well, here I go again, on my own...goin' down the only road I've ever known...like a drifter I was born to walk alone.

Nothing like a good section of Whitesnake lyrics to start us off. I honestly believe that David Coverdale might just be a genius. Imagine if he were the nation's poet laureate....that would kick some major buttocks.

So, here I am, Rob Williamson, and this is my second blog. Like any new blogging partner, I am going to do my best to keep up my end of the relationship. I will be there for this blog, I will be the blogger it deserves. I know, I have a bad history in blog relationships and I am currently paying alimony to a certain blog known as Livejournal. Hey, we all make mistakes, but guys, I am in love with this blog. How can fight the feelings I have? This blog is the best thing that has happened in my life, you just don't know. I quote Tupac in saying, "Only God can judge me". A wise saying from the most prolific post mortem artist of our times.

Anyway, enough with that. This is my blog, hope you enjoy.
